Van Metre 9 at Stonebridge is an integral part of the rich history of Martinsburg, West Virginia. The building originally opened in 1922, as the “Opequon Golf Club,” in 1955, as the “Martinsburg Golf Club,” and in 1997, as the “Stonebridge Golf Course.” Finally, on June 9th, 2021, the full 175 acres of land, including the clubhouse, was purchased by Jim and Jakki Van Metre and named “The Sycamore and Van Metre 9 at Stonebridge”.
With original architects and builders including Clarence Lowell Harding and Alexander Finley, the building’s architectural classification is a late nineteenth century and early twentieth century American Movement Bungalow, Adirondack Lodge Style. Still standing with its original limestone foundation and walls, it has been rehabilitated to return to serving its original purpose.

Our Pro Shop is open and continually evolving to encompass lessons, a fully stocked storefront and more.
- Visit our Pro Shop to chat, check-in for your tee time and pay.
- The Pro Shop is to the left of the clubhouse when you arrive in our main parking lot.
- Pro Shop closed? If you're here golfing outside of Pro Shop hours, there will be an attendant in the restaurant, at the bar, to provide service to golfers for the driving range as well as carts.

- Out of bounds is defined by the white stakes.
- The yellow/red stakes define penalty areas.
- Keep up the pace of play with the group in front of you.
- Please repair ball marks and divots.
- Keep carts on the path around all trees and greens.
- No carts allowed in the parking lot.
- Use designated drop areas in seeded areas and ground under repair areas.
- All alcoholic beverages must be purchased and consumed on golf course property.
- No fishing or swimming in ponds.
- Driver's license is required to operate golf carts.
- Obey all traffic signs when crossing roadways.
